Responsible for day-to-day human resource functions as well as assist the payroll department as needed. They will communicate verbally or in writing with employees and managers. Other responsibilities include administrative work as determined by the Controller/Office Manager.

The position’s primary functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in processing employee benefits; understand current benefit plans and enrollment requirements
  • Respond to all Wage and Insurance verification requests
  • Enter all new hire data
  • Maintain personnel files and data and ensure that it complies with legal requirements
  • Works with payroll team during the on-boarding and off-boarding process
  • Communicates with employees and management regarding employee issues such as time-off, leaves of absences, benefits, write-ups, new hires, terminations, and workers compensation
  • Assists in the annual open enrollment process
  • Assist in the updating the employee handbook
  • Assist in filing, faxing photocopying, and other administrative duties as directed by the Controller/Office Manager

HR Assistant/Administrative Assistant Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Experience working in the construction industry a plus
  • Spanish speaking required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office
